Day parole has been revoked for Mary Braun, a Sons of Freedom Doukhobor member serving an eight-year sentence for arson attacks in the Castlegar area, a spokesman for the National Parole Board said Friday. Fraser Simmons said Braun has been told she will have to return to a federal prison instead of the halfway house where she had been living since April. He said the parole board had received information that Braun, 66, "is considered a risk for being reinvolved in crime" but there were no indications she had committed any new offences. Simmons said the next full review of Braun's parole is scheduled for September 1988 but she can apply for an earlier review. |
