But I want to include it, anyway.
 

~ My company LPwordsolutions supports and sponsors a number of activities and organizations,
    including - The Surrey International Writers' Conference (contest sponsor and judge),
    Surrey Public Library's Young Adult Writing Contest (sponsor).

~10% the author royalties of each of my kids' books go to non profit organizations:
    Surrey Public Library Legacy Fund (Meeting Miss 405), Alexandra Neighbourhood House
    (The Ballad of Knuckles McGraw),
South Fraser Women's Services Society (Elsie and the Silver
    Rain).
 
I also donate books, workshops and author presentations to children's/literacy-based  
    organizations for silent auctions, etc. Contact me for more information.

~ In 2008, I received a Canada Council grant to write the companion book to Meeting Miss 405.

~ I ran away from boarding school in my housecoat when I was nine.

~  I love mechanical pencils, Yellow Labs, red licorice, the Sinai Peninsula and riding my bike along
     Vancouver's waterfront.

~  I love to tell people that almost the only free parking left in Vancouver is at the Vancouver
     Planetarium.

~  My daughter Holly was not born at Christmas.

~  I am a member of: Children's Writers & Illustrators of BC (CWILL), The Writers' Union of
     Canada, The Canadian Authors' Association, The Children's Literature Roundtable (Vancouver),
     the Canadian Children's Book Centre, and The Association of Fundraising Professionals.   

~  I am fascinated by sea horses. Can they really be real?

~ The most useful writing books I've ever used are Manuscript Makeover by Elizabeth Lyon and
   
 Imaginative Writing by Janet Burroway.

~ I'll do almost anything for chocolate.
