And yet another call from a Brookside student! This time it was A.J. asking some great questions!

S May 16, 2008
Today's mail brings the copy proofs of my book, and a copy of the cover! I love it - the rich colours, the rather retro look, the fact that Tansy is not a traditionally 'pretty' child. The illustrator is Peter Ferguson - check out more of his work here.

I spend fifteen enjoyable minutes on two separate phone interviews with Grade Six students from Brookside School in Surrey. Well-prepared with interesting questions, they are both interested in writing as a career. A copy of my book of writing exercises is now on their way to them, and I've promised their
school library a copy of MM405 when it is out.

S April 16, 2008
I leave for about a month's visit to the UK, which includes a presentation to a writing group in North Yorkshire, and introducing my husband to my old boarding school and stomping grounds in Truro, Cornwall.

S April 15, 2008
Check
here for information about my presentations to schools. I'll be visiting Calgary in early November for the Kaleidoscope Children's Literature Conference, and hope to arrange class visits and book talks in the area while I'm there. But I am, of course, also happy to visit schools closer to home (Surrey, BC)

S April 13, 2008
I return final revisions on Meeting Miss 405 to my editor at Orca... next step is to see the copy proofs!

S   March 16, 2008
