Lois Peterson has been a freelance writer and worked in the non profit sector for over 25 years. She's a member of The Association of Fundraising Professionals, The Canadian Authors Association, The Children's Book Centre, CWILL BC, The Editors' Association of Canada, The Federation of BC Writers, The Plain Language Association International, the Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers, and the Society of Children's Writers and Book Illustrators. She has served as Coordinator of the Surrey Creative Writing Diploma Program, Contest Coordinator for the Surrey International Writers' Conference, and 2007 & 2008 nonfiction co-judge for the Surrey International Writers' Conference. She also holds a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
