What Ilona's hubby has to say.

OK, so I'm biased. I admit it.

This is a "secret" link, discovered only by accident, as you know. I, her husband, am building the web site. She does not know I am putting this page up and will probably be embarrassed when she eventually finds out. No one has to tell her though.

My perspective comes from experience and observation of her dedication, creativity, and dynamism in her work.

Ilona is a natural-born teacher and a life-long musician. Her love and understanding of music combined with deep insight into the learning process creates a combination that is unique and powerful.

I am astounded when I listen to her talk with enthusiasm about the steps of learning a child experiences. What for me as an observer is one process, for her is many incremental steps, each one understood and considered in her teaching.

Along with her deep insights into the learning process, she has a profound understanding of children that comes from both years of experience and deep intuition on her part. She knows what makes children tick as a class, and as individuals.

She understands each child on her or his own level -- what motivates them, what inspires them, how different children respond to different teaching strategies. And therein lies her special gift. She connects with each child in a personal way that allows her to further that child's growth and learning in the most appropriate way. It is this insight, intuition and understanding that makes her so suited to teaching in groups -- she creates for and teaches the individual in the group.

These insights into learning and understanding of children are joined by deep creativity and dedication. I know how many hours she spends creating music for her students, sometimes composing, sometimes arranging, often recording cassettes for them to listen to. She is always looking for just the vehicle to combine inspiration and challenge for her children. It's no wonder they love her for it. She really is a remarkable teacher.
