The Sawatzkys moved from Saskatchewan to Enderby in 1966, where Harvey began a Medical Practice, from which he retired in 1995.  In 1974 they moved to this present location and began raising Morgan horses.  Harvey has sung tenor as a soloist and in numerous quartets, first as a student in Bible School, then University, and during his professional life.   Since moving to Enderby, Harvey and June have continued to use their musical gifts.

God has blessed us here at Birch Meadow Farms, with beautiful surroundings and facilities for raising our Morgan horses.  In 1998, while part of the group “Servant Heart”, we decided to combine our love of Gospel music and our facilities, by sharing our music abilities, and inviting other musicians to share their talents also.  Thus our first "Singin'" was born. We were amazed at the interest, and with the encouragement from those who attended to "do it again."  The following two years saw the attendance double then triple. In our seventh year the total attendance was more than 13 times that of the first concert in 1998.  Christian friends and the surrounding community have been so supportive, giving of their time and energy, to make this a very successful event.

The concession stand at the Singin' has provided an opportunity for fund raising. It was a venue, which a local church used to help them finance construction of indoor bathroom facilities for their church in 1999. The following two years, a mission team to the Ukraine raised a substantial sum to help with their expenses for their trips and their work in Ukrainian orphanages. A local needy family was the beneficiary in 2002.  In 2004, Neighborlink benefited with the sale of “Bison on a Bun” on Saturday night.

Located in the interior of B.C. at the southern end of the Shuswap or the "top of the Okanagan", we are privileged to enjoy the area's lakes, scenery and varied recreation facilities.  Our Morgan horses are also a real attraction. As I am writing this I am watching a two day old colt frolicking around it's mother. The picturesque town of Enderby has a fine museum and many unique shops. They include, antiques, fine art, furniture, ladies wear, Western wear, jewelry and gift shops. The Skating Arena hosts several hockey camps during the summer.  There are numerous camping facilities, motels, and fine restaurants in the area.
