We say Christmas is for children but we are all children in our hearts! It is sometimes difficult for us to think back that far----to a time not so long ago when we were all children!!
Come with me now to a time not so long ago! To a time of Joy and Wonder!!
Remember waking early Christmas morning to the wonderful aromas of fresh baking and the fresh cut Christmas tree all decorated with wonderful things.
Remember to a time not so long ago when you could only remember the one thing you wished for all year long --- hoping it would be one of the presents under the tree???
Remember when Christmas Eve it was difficult to sleep and it was all you could do to stay in your bed when you heard footsteps or noises outside?
Was it Santa?
Come sit by the fire!

My Christmas in Germany!
The Christmas Season in Germany begins with Advent. The fourth Sunday before Christmas is the 1st of Advent. We light a candle on the Advent Wreath, which has four candles, every Sunday until Christmas.
Children receive an Advent Kalender. This Calendar has 24 tiny door which when opened reveals a picture relating to Christmas. One door is opened each day till Christmas Eve. This door usually revealed a Nativity Scene!
December 6th is Nikolaus-Santa Claus-Day! Children put their shoes outside their bedroom doors at night and in the morning they are filled with candy. Only the good children receive candy the bad childrens shoes are filled with coal or sticks!
December 24th is Heiligenabend-Holynight-on this night the Christkind-Christchild-comes with gifts for the good children.
This version of Christmas varies with religious beliefs. This is only what I remember!
