Mainline steam survived, just, into the 21st century in China. Those of us fortunate to travel there to see its demise will never forget the sight and sounds of magnificent QJ 2-10-2's double-heading over Jingpeng Pass, or of workaday SY 2-8-2's pushing cars back and forth through a coal tipple or a steel mill. Bachmann's range of Chinese locos, albeit small, gives you the opportunity to reproduce your memories, or, if you never got there, to model the last of the world's big steam operations.
Production is strictly limited and models are hard to obtain. If you are thinking of making a purchase, do so without delay. We cannot guarantee our ability to replace any of the stock on hand once sold. Avoid disappointment.

| QJ 2-10-2  | ||||
| The QJ 2-10-2 were the last class of main line giants. With the dieselization of the Ji-Tong Railway, they are now virtually extinct, but live on in model form. The most recent (2007) releases recall the Ji-tong locomotives that many of us were fortunate enough to experience firsthand. All QJ locos are now sold out. We did warn you ! | ![]() | |||

| SY 2-8-2 | ||||
| The SY is the utility locomotive used until recently all over China. It is still relatively common in industrial locations. The last SY's were built right at the turn of the Millenium and will surely go down in history as the last standard gauge locomotives built in any numbers, anywhere. | ||||
