The NPC (Non-Player Character) Bank

Have you ever noticed how a character described as "hale and hearty" in one post, suddenly appears in another sporting a severe limp? Or felt a twinge of agony when someone takes one of your painstakingly created NPC's, and uses him or her as cannon fodder?

Well fret no more! The NPC bank should help solve some of these problems, while allowing you to enrich your own posts by "borrowing" NPCs that other players have created. Here is how it works: you register the NPCs you create by e-mailing them to me (Pwyll) using the format outlined below. I take them and enter them into a database, then use that database to generate lists of NPCs grouped by importance, occupation, and location. When you want to use a NPC (either your own or someone elses), simply come back here, check the list, and slot them into your story-line.

The links at left will take you to web pages with the NPC lists. However, I would recommend the All NPCs Adobe Acrobat formated file. If you need Adobe Acrobat you can download it for free here.

Formats:

The following formats should be used when submitting NPCs to the bank:

  1. Occupation - Name - Location
  2. Physical description; personality; general comments.
  3. Terms of use (Play without asking, Play with permission, Do not play, PC will play NPC)

For Example:

  1. Barkeep - Swithen - Abertawe/Alban/Swan Inn
  2. Grizzled old man (50+), about 5' 4" with slightly stooped shoulders; Gentle on the verge of doddering, but knows when to answer questions and when not to; Business partner with Pwyll ap Llywarch (PC) and part owner of the Swan Inn.
  3. PC will play NPC
