Curiosity...

My Dad's made a hole in the wall, thought young Jed
I wonder what can be in there
a short leap will do and I'll find out real quick
and with that, took a spring in the air

He wandered about for a while as he watched
his Dad peering in with a light
and wondered aloud what it all was about
but to ask Dad, would that be polite

A new section beckoned and Jed took a jump
to explore this intriguing new spot
the jump it proved tragic, the ceiling gave way
and Jed, he came down with the lot

Dad wasn't impressed and he made that quite clear
in words that I would not repeat
but only, I add, when he was reassured
that Jed was in one piece, complete

The following day Dad replaced all the tiles
but reaching to clean up the dust
he put all his weight on his computer desk
and his weight was too much, and it bust

It's all fixed right now, well perhaps not quite all
a chunk of the beading resides
alongside the couch in our 'cats room' downstairs
how long for, well until Dad decides

To get up once more for another close look
at the hole in the wall in his den
but when he does that you can bet your last buck
that young Jed won't be round about then...
