My Holiday... As organized by Zak and Jed..

I have some time, all to myself, now then, what should I do ?
this question first was popped to Zak then Jed
Old Zak he smiled his little smile and said "it's up to you
please put my cushion out, I'm going to bed"

But Jed said "get the caulking done the Fall is coming fast
‘twill keep the winds from wandering inside
out came my caulking gun, and I went at it, right away
I spread that caulk on windows far and wide

What next, I mused, Zak yawned and said, "about the stairs outside
they surely are in need of some more paint
and what about the table on the deck, its legs could use
a little touch up, waterproof they aint"

A thought, it then occurred to me "why don't you help me out
some watering or painting you could try"
but Jed he looked askance at me, "whoever heard", he said
"of cats that painted, watered flowers, why"

"I cannot get my little paw around that paint bush handle
and paint upon my fur just would not do
perceive that hose, it's rather large and heavy don't you know
it wasn't made for us, ‘twas made for you"

Then Zak pipped up, "and while your have the paint out for the legs
the little table, it could use a coat
the downstairs bathroom also needs a little TLC"...
was this a time for Zakko to connote?

I did the stairs, the table legs, the little table too
the bathroom got a touch up, as advised
I made quite sure no paint attached itself to any fur
my work was all inspected, supervised

I sat down, after all this work, quite satisfied, content
but Jed said "Dad have you yet heard from Mom"?
"No Jed" I said, "she's out of touch, she'll call us when she can"
but something was inside his cranium..

"You know" he said "how Zak and I we walk about the roof
above the carport, well I'd like to say
that when its wet the grunge comes off and messes up my paws
besides it makes our forays quite risque"

"And, while your out there cleaning that, you might just think about
the siding, it could also use a scrub
then if that chap won't do the hedge, perhaps give that a trim
now, Dad, enough of that, how ‘bout some grub"

I did it all, but then refused to paint the garage too
"that's it, you guys, your Mom is on her way
I will not ask for your advice when Mom takes off again
It really has not been
My Holiday"...
