Our Home
Your hosts, Ms. Gerri Davis and Mr. George Lerchs moved to the Okanagan Valley from Vancouver Island in August of 2002 with dreams of having a vineyard and county home.
George is a retired economist and Gerri has spent many years in the hospitality industry and loves to cook. Neither of us had any experience with viticulture. However, ignorance is sometimes bliss. We planted our four acre vineyard outside our back door on the rocky Okanagan hillside. We learn more each year about growing grapes and the art and science of wine making.
We love to welcome our guests to our beautiful twenty acre property to enjoy the peace and solitude of this sunny hillside retreat. We strive to offer generous and genuine unreserved hospitality and are more than pleased to share our knowledge of the area's attractions and resources over a glass of our wine, made on site.
The Vineyard
We planted ten grape varieties but the main crop of our four acres is Pinot Gris, which we sell each year to Kettle Valley Winery in Naramata. We also grow Gewurztraminer, Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Siegerrebe, Zweigelt, Foch, Optima, Riesling, Auxerrois and a mystery white grape. From them we make varietal wine and blends in our small winery.
A road winds through the vineyard, all the way to the top of the property and offers a good hike and a breathtaking view. George offers an in-depth tour of the vineyard providing information to enhance your appreciation of wine.
We are conscious of water conservation in our desert climate, so use gravity-fed drip irrigation to water the vineyard.
Also through the vineyard gate we have planted peach, apricot and cherry trees as well as strawberries and raspberries so we can provide you with fresh, unsprayed produce.
Our Home
The main house was built in 1992 but since our arrival we have been constantly renovating and making additions to provide better facilities for our guests. The Get Away Suite and winery building were constructed by us in 2005.
We plant a large garden each year with many tomato varieties, leafy veggies, carrots, squash, beans and melons all interspersed with colourful flowers and tall, nodding sunflowers. We love to garden and present you with our organic, fresh harvest for your enjoyment.
Our egg-laying chickens are housed in the little cedar-clad buildings and fenced chicken yard in front of the house and give us fresh, flavourful eggs each day. Our rooster makes merry each morning with his crowing and strutting about.
Our only other “livestock” is Murphy, our cute little gray cockatiel who will whistle a welcome.

You will love the variety of birds visiting the baths
Our property and bird baths attract a large and varied song bird population starting in early spring with the Mountain Bluebirds and continuing into late fall. The many varieties of birds nest on our property and make frequent visits to the three bird baths situated around the yard, providing endless hours of bird watching entertainment.
We hope to exceed your expectations and provide the most comfortable, enjoyable vacation possible. We look forward to meeting you.
