My Doll Collection
page 2

Here is my doll collection as of March 2000.
A lot of these dolls are new. On the top shelf of this old cabinet (circa 1920's)
are my smaller dolls.
A few are from around the world; France, Germany, Holland, England and Wales. Also
included are my Nancy Ann Story Book dolls, on the right.

Second shelf from the left: an angel doll, a Royal Doulton "Little
Sister" doll, an Ashton Drake doll (with toilet paper!) and squeezed in the corner, a
dark baby doll from St. Louis.

Bottom shelf: American Indian doll, a bride doll which my Mom bought when she was 17 (way back in 1950), a Navajo Indian doll, an Eskimo doll from Alaska, and a musical doll which I named Sara Crewe. In the front of the cabinet are two new dolls, "singing carols". On the top of the cabinet is my lovely Anne of Green Gables doll.

I have a few Barbie dolls, but no picture of them yet. I kept all my Barbies, along with their case, clothes and accessories. I'm glad I did!

Here is my niece, Ashley, in August 1999, posing on our front porch, with my Mother's doll buggy, circa 1936. I used to push it around our yard when I was a little girl, and my Mom played with it in the lane of her parent's farm yard far away in Amity, Oregon. How the scene has changed! The buggy is in mint condition. On the bottom there is a picture of a grown man standing in the doll buggy, and a statement beside it which says:
"Mary Lu" Doll Cart
No. 481/5
High Quality Finish Style
Sturdily Made
Specially constructed steel springs
Will hold up to 150 lbs (as illustrated)
Made in a real baby carriage factory for J.C. Penney Co Inc

My Mother gave me the buggy when she moved into a smaller home, in January 1998.

What a doll!

Isn't this kid cute?? I could add him to my doll collection!

Another picture of the doll buggy, with little James inside. He didn't seem to mind at all. What that strange auntie won't do next...

This was taken at Easter, 1998. James is around 4 months old.
