Easter Traditions

One of the favourite traditions for Easter is to purchase a beautiful lily plant, for a table center piece. The white of the plant represents the purity of Jesus' resurrection.

 The one main problem for me is, I'm very allergic to Easter lilies!  I had to resort to using artificial ones. I place a bunch of them in a pretty blue and white vase on the cedar chest in our front hallway. No one sneezes around them!

One of our family traditions which we have done for the past 14 years is this:
We say to one another on Easter morning;
"He is risen!"
Then the other person replies;
"He is risen indeed!"
We try to say this as a greeting immediately after we awaken. What a wonderful thought to begin Easter Sunday!

I love to bake treats for special occasions. One thing I've made for the past 13 years is a delicious Easter bread ring. If you'd like to give it a try, click on

Annie's Home Page is a fountain of information. This link, "Annie's", will take you to her wonderful pages about Easter. I won't attempt re-writing what she has already done! Her pages are well worth reading, and are quite in-depth.

For a really unique Easter Cookie Recipe, please click here. I've never tried this out, but it certainly sounds like fun, and it also teaches quite an important lesson. It would be great to use in a Sunday School class, or a kid's club.
