Alberta Trip May 2005 - May 19

May 19 we drove from Keremeos to Cranbrook, stopping occasionally to take photographs of anything that inspired us.  The weather was beautiful in the morning, but became pretty grim in spots, including heavy rain which turned to hail while we ate lunch at Copper Eagle Cappuccino & Bakery in Greenwood.  (My traditionally-minded companions had sandwiches, but I went straight for an enormous slice of absolutely heavenly apple-rhubarb pie.  Life is short and uncertain: eat dessert first.)

Then the sun came out again and we visited the site of the now-ruined Greenwood Copper smelter.  The site is apparently undergoing some sort of transformation or 'clean-up' - hopefully they will keep it accessible, as it is an intriguing place to wander around in.
