Unmasking Zotero Just on the off chance anyone's taken an interest in Zotero, any of the 800 of you who have traipsed through my site in the past few days, virtually shutting down the LUG yesterday and choking Zotero's bandwidth, I'd like to mention a few things that weren't immediately obvious to me. continued 06 May 2008 Zotero I don't know how I missed this one. Don't get around enough I guess. continued 05 May 2008 WILTW1 I suppose you think this is really fun, sitting there wondering what I'm going to say next. Here's a clue: After 140 postings, I have no idea. But here's a story that just cracks me up. continued 01 May 2008 Research Guidance If you're not using Legacy's Research Guidance, you're missing half the show. continued 4 comments 29 April 2008 Free Tickets When I was a kid, there was a contest on the radio that went something like this: continued 26 April 2008 More EverNote I started using EverNote back when it was barely out of the womb and for awhile I was a beta-tester. Since then they have been adding features and leaping on ahead of what I've learned so far, and so fast I can't keep up. Now they're off on Version 3 (out in beta) where you'll be able to store your notes and clips on the web so you can have access to them anywhere. continued 22 April 2008 The Forum It's been over a year since I first started thinking 'forum'. Seems funny now that I was panicking about whether I could keep writing all by myself. Apparently I can, although occasionally I get tired of the sound of my own mind. continued 20 April 2008 MediaDex Primer Only because I have eyes in the back of my head, I know that some of you have tackled MediaDex for your IPTC ambitions, or are in the midst of tackling, and you'd probably like to shoot me for even suggesting it. But if it's not too late, I'm going to reveal some of the inner workings of this mysterious software. continued 16 April 2008 Back at the Ranch I don't actually live on a ranch, but I am back. Contrary to popular belief, not everyone in Canada lives on a ranch or in an igloo. We have towns and .... continued 4 comments 08 April 2008 Cookies & Me This is off the beaten path, but I'm going there anyway. They say about 90% of people who use the internet know nothing about affiliate marketing, so this is for the 90%. continued 05 April 2008 Homework Legacy 7.0 is coming out soon. Probably. In which case, we're a month closer to it than we were, say, a month ago. Just as you would probably sweep a spot in your house for a new couch, you might want to sweep your database in preparation for the new version. And if you don't use Legacy, well ... continued 02 April 2008 TV's & Monitors After a week of not writing I always think I should be coming back with something extraordinary because, after all, what else have I been doing all this time? Surely, something terribly exotic. In reality, my very old television has been niggling at my mind for awhile. continued 26 March 2008
IPTC Summary I know I've gone on and on about IPTC. And all over the map. But people are still looking for the information and even I can't find my way through the old maze anymore. For this reason, I will now attempt to consolidate some options into one easy-to-access summary. continued 22 March 2008 Photo Filing III
Email from a reader: I have studied all your postings on digital photo organization. I am at a brick wall and I need some help. continued |
