KEAM FARM

Pictures Training Dog Food

Keam Farm is located on 26+ acres of rolling pasture in the Fraser Valley, at the S.W. corner of 16th Avenue and 224th Street in South Langley, only 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver.

The farm was originally planned to breed and train Border Collie stock dogs.  To do this we needed a few sheep.  However, we discovered the sheep soon learned the routine and were no longer a challenge for the dogs, so we got more sheep, and more sheep.  And of course now that we had so many sheep and did not want the coyotes, we got Bridie, a cross between a Maremma and an Akbash.

It did not take long before we added other animals, including Mary the Palomino Welsh Pony, Curly & Moe the pigs, and of course barn cats.

At Keam Farm, we like to think that we practice a unique philosophy.  Here all animals are treated equal.  It is not unusual to lambs, goats, pigs, cats and even dogs (some dogs) playing together.

The next time you have to board your dog while you are away, consider Keam Farm Dog Camp as an alternative to a boarding kennel.

Keam Farm has been designed with dogs in mind, and has been described as the largest Off Leash Park in the Greater Vancouver area.  The farm is divided into large fenced fields that include rolling fields to run and chase birds, a couple of small woods for them to practice their hunting skills (sticks & balls).

While at Keam Farm Dog Camp, the dogs run free and are not kept in cages or runs.

However, they are supervised at all times to settle any disputes and prevent misunderstandings which might lead to fights.  This is a valuable socializing experience for the dogs which they will take home with them.  We have found that most animal aggression is caused by a lack of confidence.  At Keam Farm Dog Camp, they soon learn that they can not be number one, in fact even on their best day the most they could hope for would be number four or five.  They soon learn that number four or five is pretty good, and learn to accept who they are and quit trying to challenge every other dog for a better spot.

Every evening at Keam Farm Dog Camp they receive a bowl of our famous Lamb Stew.

While at Keam Farm Dog Camp a variety of training is available (see Training Page for details).

During their stay at Keam Farm Dog Camp your dog will also learn to coexist with other animals such as cats, sheep, goats, pigs and rabbits.
