Business:                                        Mural Information

a  Mural Consultation: The initial consultation is free, on-site; an opportunity to share ideas for the mural layout.  This helps to clarify the theme or feeling to be rendered.  Together we will determine the area in which the mural will be located, and the walls, floor, &/or ceiling to be painted.

a  The Image(s): The process of determining the illustrations to be applied can be simplified by providing the artist a sketch, or a picture from a magazine.  Sometimes clients may find getting those concepts down on paper to be a difficult task!  Even if you ‘Can’t Draw A Stick Man’, you can find ways to communicate the image you have in your mind by sharing your ideas.  From there, I can render a sketch to determine if we have understood each other.  By working together, we can fulfill your dream!

a  Mural Sketch Fee: A fee for $100 will be required to begin creating the mural sketches.  If you are satisfied with the sketch & choose to hire me to paint the mural, the $100 will be applied as a credit to the total cost of the invoice. Subsequent sketches will be charged at $20/hr.

a  Design Description: Simplistic, Intermediate, Detailed:  Murals are detailed works of art: the more details, the more time it will take to create them.  Your budget may be a factor in determining the amount of detail to be applied to your mural.  The details for quote can be presented as Simplistic, Intermediate or Detailed:

a  Simplistic:   Design would be clear & plain.  Elements would appear as simple line drawings.

a  Intermediate:  Increase in the amount of elements within the mural.  Design details increased, colours are monochromatic.

a  Detailed:  Design is significant, giving elements a three dimensional, realistic rendering. Colours are blended to create mid-tones.

a  Mural Pricing:  The complexity of the mural will be tailored to fit your budget.  Mural pricing is based on many factors, including the complexity of the design, the degree of detail, and surface texture.  As well, the ‘wear & tear’ factor may play a part in determining the quality & quantity of paint required, i.e. a mural on baby’s bedroom ceiling versus a mural in a restaurant’s foyer.  It also covers the supplies & a portion of the cost of equipment required on site.   If scaffolding is required, it will be noted as a separate surcharge.

a Deposit:  A deposit of 25 % of the total estimated Quote is required at the time that the quote is accepted. This    requires the signing of the Acceptance of Agreement.   The deposit will be used towards the purchase of materials.  These deposits are non-refundable.

It is important to schedule times of availability to access the site to begin painting.  Please be aware that depending on the size of the mural and the complexity of the design, several visits may be required to accomplish the finished project.

Payment for the remaining amount will be required upon mural completion and approval.

My goal is that you will be delighted with the end product when it is finished! If you notice something after the fact that needs to be adjusted, one free return visit will be included in the price.  If subsequent touch-ups are required at a later date, there will be a fee for service.
