I had a number of bookmarks for distributors of Chinese mainland scooters but they seem to have disappeared along with any parts supply for all the scooters they sold.  All the above are recognized brands that have been sold for years in Europe and Asia although some are just recent arrivals in Canada.  Mainland Chinese scooters seem to be sold mainly by the container rather than having any formal ties to an organization in Canada.  Anybody can order a container whereas with Honda, Kymco, Piaggio etc., the factory only deals with their Canadian subsidiary or a factory authorized distributor that can supply parts and service.

Price isn't the only factor so look for a local dealer that can perform service and maintenance and supply parts on short notice.  If you have to take your scooter in for normal maintenance or accident repair and wait for weeks to get a part,  that takes a lot of fun out of owning a scooter.
This is , again, a  reason to be active in a local scooter club or forum to get an idea of  what brands and retailers are available and what you can expect in after-sales service.  There are some really good brands being sold by somewhat questionable retailers and vice-versa.

While the above are good sources for new scooters, some companies make a business of importing older used scooters from other countries.  Imports from Japan are big from cars to industrial machinery to motorcycles and sometimes they'll "pad" a partially full container with scooters. Below are two firms with a good reputation that have imported scooters to the west coast of Canada. All models are 15 years or older in order to qualify for import to Canada.

Windbell Motorcycle
Located in North Vancouver, BC imports Japanese models of motorcycles and scooters never sold in Canada. They once had a couple of Honda Gyro Canopy three wheelers on their lot.
Located in Richmond, BC they sell a number of aftermarket parts as well as import containers of scooters on a regular basis.

If you're thinking of importing a scooter from the US, you should check first here to see if you can bring it across the border and what hoops you'll have to jump through to do it successfully. I've known a few people who have brought new or recent models of Honda scooters to Canada from the US.
