Country Charmed

Reviews and Reader Comments

Review excerpt from CataRomance.com:

"With a charming setting, captivating characters and an engaging plot, COUNTRY CHARMED is an absolute keeper!" ..."COUNTRY CHARMED is a beautifully written contemporary romance from Avalon Books. Ms. Merrells is obviously a master at writing romance destined for many keeper shelves! COUNTRY CHARMED has a very engaging plot, and I was impressed by this author's ability to hook me from page one. The setting is described in such a way to make me feel like I was part of the story, and I hated to leave even for a moment. All elements of this love story are perfect, and Nicola Merrells will absolutely be an auto-buy author for me." -- BJ Deese; CataRomance Reviews

"I just had to drop you a quick line to tell you how much I enjoyed your book. Such a nice read---and so descriptive of the inn and the country. You're going to be sending thousands of people up there for a look-see! ... Thanks for writing it! I know I won't be the only person who thoroughly enjoys it many times to come." -- N.Sayre; Surrey, BC

"Even if you are not a romance novel reader you are likely to enjoy this book, not only for the strong storyline but also for its familiar setting." -- Merritt Herald Newspaper

This next one has got to be the oddest reader comment I've ever received! And I wasn't sure if I should post it because it's just so off-the-wall, but it's just too funny not to share, and, well, at least she liked it!

Dear Ms. Merrells:
May I say how much I enjoyed your first novel "Country Charmed". I was amazed at the heroine's determined resistance to the obviously dynamic charms of the virile rancher. Here in Ulaanbaatar women are pretty good at yak herding, but weak-willed when a magnetic Mongol makes a move... if you catch my drift. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know you certainly raised the temperature here in my yurt. Too bad it's just me and yak these days. Maybe by the time the sequel gets here things will be looking up. Mind you, by the last chapter that yak was beginning to look pretty good...

British Columbia sounds a whole lot fancier than this barren backwater. If you have any lonely leftover cowboys (since your women are so slow on the uptake - and mite too principled, if you ask me) I could probably get a pretty good ruble for the yak and yurt. Keep me posted.

Rumour has it your next blockbuster is set in Oxford. Toffy-nosed Brits aren't as much of a hit here on the steppes, but I know you'll do a great job on that one as well. Keep up the good work.
Best wishes,
Margo Polo
