| Norway 2004 - Saturday, September 25th - Søre Neset School, Rendezvous |
| Everyone met at the Sore Neset School for the walk
down to the dock for the re-dedication of the Snøgg, a fish transport
boat that moved the crew on the fjords in 1944. One helper, Heggland, was wearing the Royal Air Forces Escaping Society pin given the helpers at a special dinner in 1966. A gentlemen wearing combats and an air force wedge cap introduced himself to us a Morten Lunde, Inspector General of the Royal Norwegian Air Force. He grew up nearby and attended the school. Col Rick Hardy, Military Attaché at the Canadian Embassy in Oslo brought his assistant, Sgt François Charron, with him. Acting Mayor of Os, Lisbeth Axelsen, welcomed everyone. Then we set off. |
