Naida is a maiden and member of the Gray Elves who are healers residing in the Ancient Grove of the Forgotten Basin. Naida is the main character in this book. She was born an only child (unusual for gnomes) and received twice the healing powers of her parents, Bristo and Mesha. Naida has rosy round cheeks and golden hair that she usually wears in a long braid down her back. Eventually she receives a special silver streak in her hair. She has small pink hands with which she heals. Naida's red hat droops, falling on her shoulder. She prefers to wear leather pants, like the males, and soft leather boots. She befriends a lynx kitten called Mikki who guards her always lurking close by. |
