WWII Tabletop Miniature Rule System.

Overview:
Schwere Kompanie ©  rule system is designed for  company-sized battles, focusing on individual Vehicles, Squads, Guns and Aircraft.  The rule system allows for a fast-paced gaming experience with a minimum of battlefield clutter and markers to distract from the overall splendor of miniature gaming.  All vehicle, squad and gun types have their own reference card that contains all information relating to that particular unit with over 110 vehicles and variants for Germany alone! Assistance and hints for those producing their own game pieces are included in each rule section and all designer’s notes are included in the corresponding rule section.  Its all here!  Included are rules for Infantry, Armor, Close Assaults, Air Attacks, Artillery, Mortars, Panzerfausts, Bazookas, Heavy Machine Guns, Flamethrowers and much, much, more!

Scale:
One miniature on the battlefield represents one Squad, Vehicle or Gun.  Each turns represent five minutes of actual time and the scale is approximately 50 yards per inch. Schwere Kompanie was originally designed to be used with GHQ’s Terrain Maker tm  4” Styrofoam hexes but has now been converted for use with games with or without hexes.  Using 1/285th scale miniatures at a one to one scale, the Terrain Maker tm  4” hexes would actually be only 28 meters across but setting them to 200 meters allows range to become a factor in combat.  For example, at 30 meters per hex, a German MG42 on a Lafette tripod, would be effective out to 35 hexes (!) Setting the scale to 200m/hex allows their effectiveness to be reduced to 6 hexes.  This makes for a good sized game on a 4 x 8 table.

Scope:
Throughout the writing of these rules, I have had to balance historical accuracy with playability.  I have tried to find the easiest way to include as many aspects of WWII combat to the rules without losing the focus of a fun game.  Writing a rulebook with all the minute details would be much easier than deciding what adds to the game and what may be more historically correct but would ultimately drag the game down with too many rules. In the area of weapon performance and vehicle armor, no corners were cut – I don’t think we grogs would have it any other way! The armor values and penetrations abilities used have been cross referenced from many sources.  Armor values are not simply a measure of thickness, but of slope as well.  Many armor facings have different thickness' and so the value for this facing reflects an average of all the values present.  The different squads in the rule system are based on the most common types for each combatant.  This is by no means a thorough listing but due to the variable Basic Moral Level and Elite Unit rules, any Infantry force can be gamed.

I would truly love to give these rules away for free but due to the costs of many research books, CD ROM's, MS programs, postage, etc, I had to put a price on them. That being said, your purchase of the rulebook also qualifies you for any and all upgrades for free!   I give you the all the major European players, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Rumania, Russia, United States and United Kingdom (including Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa) as well as Japan and all rules necessary to play them and in future when the Pacific is added, it will be free* (well sort of...see below).  Scenarios? Free! Rule modifications/revisions? FREE! You get the idea...I (and my merry band of  play-testers) feel  that 'Schwere Kompanie' strikes the perfect balance between realism and fun. It is a system that is ideally suited for tabletop miniatures and as such, strives to reduce the use of counters and markers cluttering up the terrain. Players do not have to remember all the info for any type of tank or squad as these are printed on cards that have all the unit info and special rules on them. The system makes for a quick-paced game with both players active throughout the scenario - there is no 'sit and take it' phase as with many other rules!

In short, I am a wargamer first and foremost and I feel that these rules are the best tactical, one mini = one tank, miniature rule system out there...

Try them!

UPGRADE to version 10 (Only for previous owners)

For those that have a previous version of Schwere Kompanie, this upgrade will only be available as a mail-out CDROM. This is a major upgrade with Japanese, Rumanians, and Hungarian forces added as well as a re-working of Command & Control and platoon structure... Now the bad news...There is a fee involved but only to cover the cost of the CDROMs and mail. With over 500 Schwere Kompanie owners out there, the bill is too much for me to cover. The fee is $5.00 USA and Canada and $6.00 International.

If you wish to have version 10 mailed out to you, please click on the email link below. Please include your current mailing address and answer the following question to verify your previous purchase. Once confirmed, click on the Paypal link for your payment.
