ANNOUNCEMENTS
If you wish to make an announcement during the announcement and sharing time, please speak to the lay reader on duty prior to the service. Thank you.
At the end of the year our Sunday School Coordinators, Kathleen Davis and Kathy Schleindl, will be concluding their ministries. We are therefore praying for God to grant new Sunday School Coordinators. If you have any ideas or interest or feel tugging at your heart, talk to the Wardens.
Vestry has decided that if you would like to contact the Rector, the Rectors Warden or the Peoples Warden with an idea, opinion, or comment about the parish other than talking to them directly. There will be a file tray in the Narthex with an envelope for each person. You can place a note in the envelope to whom you would like to relay your message to.
As the snow has already fallen, Vestry has been thinking about snow removal. Our caretaker does not remove show as he lives too far away. Perhaps you know a young person who would like to make extra money this year. If anyone knows of someone who would like to remove snow from the church sidewalks this winter, please talk to the Wardens or a Vestry member.
The Advent services and Bible Study scheduled for Tuesdays at 7:00 pm have been canceled.
There are five Vestry positions arising at the end of this year. If you feel that God is calling you to this position, please contact Carole Thomson, Lorraine Cook or either of the Wardens.
UNICEF cards & gifts will be sold after the 10:30 service today & after the 10:30 service on December 7th. For special orders, phone Pam Harris at 403-286-6631
St. Edmunds is looking for people to help pack hampers and make deliveries. Please call St. Edmunds at 403-288-6330 to volunteer as a driver/delivery person. They are starting to prepare hampers December 14. Operation Christmas Angels will happen on December 20, 21 after Church & 22, at 9 a.m. at St. Edmunds.
Apostles - today we have the sixth Apostle in our series of twelve. With the busy Christmas season upon us this will be the last one until January when we will continue with the remaining six.
St. Edmund's Tea and Bazaar - Dec. 6, 11am to 1.30pm. Tea, baking, crafts and lots of door prizes. You don't have to be there to win a door prize.
POTATO CHALLENGE: Thanks to the great generosity of the Parish, the Drop In Centre still has some oatmeal left from our Oatmeal Sunday drive last December. Talking with Greg (the morning chef) the last time the "Lunch Bunch" served at the D.I., he mentioned that potatoes would be a most welcome gift at this time of year. Potatoes are put through the commercial dicer in the kitchen and then frozen until needed. Greg's shift starts an hour earlier now (5 a.m.). Since he now has more prep and cooking time, one of the things he would like to serve at times for breakfast are hash browns. If you feel you are able to contribute some potatoes to the cause, your gift will be most gratefully received. From a handful of potatoes to any size bag, the potato bin will be waiting in the Narthex for your offering. The next Drop In date for the Lunch Bunch is December 18, so the potato bin will be at church until that date. Thank you and God Bless!
Ladies Potluck Monday, December 1, 2008 in the Parish Hall the Ladies Group will be hosting a Potluck Supper, starting at 6:00 pm. A ham will be provided. Bring a gift (not wrapped) of a personal item for a woman at AVENTA. See poster for suggestions. Charlotte Carswell convening.
