Opa's
Watch
Gabriel's house is robbed while he is at school. The windows are broken, the floor is a mess and he is very scared. However, nothing compares to the loss of his most prized possession; his late Opa's Watch. Gabriel tries to deal with the flood of emotions that overcome him. With help from his family he must decide what is more important, his possessions or his memories of his grandfather. A very touching story that not only deals with the, all too common, subject of theft, but also educates children on some of the procedures that take place during a home robbery investigation. It is hoped, after reading the story, that children will be better able to deal with such an event. The most important message that comes from this story is that the safety of the family and the memories of the ones we love are things that are more precious than any household items. |
