Jack Bischke is a graphic designer and sculptor who has been working in the arts since 1964, though he has been working with mobiles since 1954. In 1968 he gave up working as a printer and typsetter in Vancouver and became self-employed as a silkscreen artist and photographer. During this time he originated several techniques of combining photography with silkscreen printing. This was at a time when colour photography had not yet become universal. Within the next five years he had moved from these disciplines into working as a silversmith and jeweller. MORE |

The mobile is not form, it is movement. It is there to give pleasure and delight to the eye and the mind and the imagination. When we look at a mobile we find ourselves located in a space no longer relative to the world of up and down and around. We find ourselves in a place of simple being and with the motion of the mobile we dance in that space. MORE |
