A whole new year...
15 days into the New Year - an icy spell of weather over the west coast, continued fighting in Iraq, and the start of more roller hockey; its amazing that although everyone says history always repeats, that very few actually try to change it. And those that do are often jaded along their path from one year to the next. The ideals that shape our teens slowly fade and are replaced most often by a sense of apathy - so you have approximately 6 billion people on the planet and yet we can't solve hunger and strife - religion has helped little in the past, yet, by itself is not likely to make headway in the future. Politics change very little in a democratic society, and even less in countries that they are trying to help. Yet these 4 billion people go to work every day (assuming 2 billion are either in cribs due to their young or old age), come home, and talk about what's happening in the world. To change that - that would be a great achievement by the people of this world - if only to see that day.
