bulletBarry Tate is my watercolour/acrylic/colour mentor. He is a local artist who is very sharing and presents a superb Colour Workshop, which happens about once a year. I facilitate this two-day workshop for Barry, so if you're interested in learning more, please contact me.

bullet Cynthia Newans http://members.shaw.ca/cnewans/
bulletCynthia Newans is my drawing mentor. She instructs beginner drawing lessons right down to the paper and pencil, through to shading and popping your focal point. Six months after beginning her course, I was asked to do commissions of pets and children in pencil.

bulletLinda Ferretti has been extremely helpful in my bid to learn more about certain methods of dyeing wool, and other rug hooking skills. I have found her prices to be reasonable for wool, burlap and other rug hooking supplies.

bullet A Needle Pulling Thread Magazine
bulletA Canadian magazine that features Canadian fibre artisans! The editor, Carla Canonico, told me at the Victoria Sewing Show, in March 2006 where I met Carla, that she wanted to feature me in her magazine. I designed a rug hooking pattern specifically for the magazine, and it is featured in the Spring 2007 issue of A Needle Pulling Thread. I feel most privileged to be chosen for this honour. Thank you, Carla!

bullet Rug Hooking Magazine
bulletAn excellent magazine with lots of reference material. This website is also loaded with information.

bullet Fiber Art by Faith (Sharon McElroy)
bulletSharon is a friend I have made over the internet. She creates beautiful large rugs and does commissions. Many of her rugs have a Hawaiian theme as she lives on Maui. See her site for information on the Maui Hook-In!

bulletSage House Studio (Colleen Wike)
bulletColleen is our Vancouver Island connection for rug hooking supplies—from frames, hoops, hooks, wool and dye, the little muralled town of Chemainus is a frequent destination for local rug hookers. Colleen is in attendance at the Woolly Thyme Rug Hookers Winter Hook-In to provide anything in the line of rug hooking supplies and equipment that we might need.
