Tudor Manor was built as a three-storey apartment
building in l927-28. Its half-timber decoration, turrets and messing
are characteristic of Tudor Revival architecture. In 1987, a 23-storey
condominium tower, designed by Paul Merrick Architects, was constructed
behind the refurbished facade of the original building.
Designated
a Heritage building in May 1987.

They sailed from England to Canada, where he was reintroduced
to his siblings and was surprised to find himself a national celebrity.
In Vancouver they rented the Tudor Manor at Sylvia Court, which
afforded a glorious ocean view. But soon he was wearily writing:
"Vancouver rain, Vancouver rain, / Again I hear its soft
refrain / Tap-tapping on my window pane." The Services celebrated
Christmas 1940 with relatives in that city, then left for Hollywood.
They fell into a routine of spending their winters in California
and summers in British Columbia.
