My name is Bill Greene and I am a self employed silviculture contractor (Bill Greene Forestry Consulting ) based out of my home in Armstrong. I am an avid amateur radio operator who at this time is mainly focused on space communications. I have made several contacts using amateur radio with the International Space Station mission inhabitants while they were onboard the facility. Recently I was fortunate enough to make my 5000th space/ satellite contact (April 2003) using my station, Yaesu FT-736R radio, Yaesu G-5600 Elevation-Azimuth Rotators, Mirage 2m and 70cm Amplifiers,  Advanced Receiver Research GaAsFET Preamplifiers for both 2m and 70cm, a  KLM 2 m 22C and a home brew 19 Turn Helical Sommer 70 cm  antennas ,fed  into a Comet CFX-514 tri-plexer and 50 ohm heliax hard line. I also continue to make contacts using my HF radio station that consists of an Icom IC-765 connected to a  Cushcraft A4S antenna at 70 feet above ground on a Delhi 68 ft free standing tower located in my back yard. When not working or ham radioing I usually keep busy as a coordinator and instructor for the Canadian Hockey Safety Program. I have been involved with the program as the British Columbia Amateur Hockey Association  Okanagan District Coordinator since it started here in 1995. The program attempts to teach what can be done to keep kids safe from injuries and accidents while being involved in amateur hockey.
