About us






VG Critics Online launched on September 1st, 2000.

Mission:

    This site is devoted to videogames in general (ex. NES, SNES, Genesis, Playstation, N64, and the Sega Dreamcast).  We review (or preview) a game or program 1 to 2 times every week and our opinions are not biased and are rated fairly, using our definitive rating system.  We also do some feature columns, like our look into the future featuring the Playstation 2, Nintendo Game Cube, Sega Dreamcast and Microsoft's X-Box.  We include media like screenshots and some videos of games.  And we provide up to date news on the console industry.  Finally, we do coverage on PC games and some hardware reviews.

A few notes about using this site...

1) I've noticed some computers couldn't display some fonts I use properly.  So, I'll offer my full fonts package for download.  Download it here and unzip them to the WINDOWS\FONTS directory.  If you have some of them already, it'll ask if you want to replace them.  Of course this is up to you.  But be warned!  It's a large file (16MB).  This package basically lets you use some fonts I use that you don't usually have.  Some of them come from games such as Age of Empires, etc.

About us:

    The VG Critics Online crew consists of two students from Burnaby North Secondary School (near Vancouver), British Columbia, Canada.  We are brothers currently in grade 9 and 11.

    We've been playing video games since 1988 and we currently own a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), a Super Nintendo (SNES), a Sega Genesis, a Nintendo 64, a Sony Playstation, a Sega Dreamcast, and a 400 MHz computer.  My favourite types of games are fighting (especially Street Fighter), RPGs (like Final Fantasy), shooters and adventure games.

    This site was designed using namo page editor for the side buttons, and Microsoft FrontPage 2000 for the main layout, and notepad for some coding.
