Soul Calibur 2 to possibly be headed to the PS2?

According to Amusement Grafitti, a Japanese news source, Namco has shifted development plans in their upcoming arcade fighter: Soul Calibur 2 and decided to use Sony's Arcade 246 Board instead of Sega's Naomi Board.  This could be a huge change in the game, which could possibly be headed to the PS2 instead of the DC!  Namco has yet to either deny or confirm the rumour although, there is a good chance we might see Soul Calibur 2 on the PS2.  Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that Namco sends the sequel to the arcade hit to the Playstation 2, and hopefully the Dreamcast!

Capcom to develop for the Game Cube

Capcom has officially announced that it plans to develop for Nintendo's Game Cube console and with the cancellation of Resident Evil 0 for the N64 and the announcement of the game resurfacing on the Game Cube, it appears Capcom will offer its full support to the Game Cube!  Already it seems that the Game Cube will have much better 3rd party support than the N64 ever had!  Street Fighter on the GC?  Let's hope so although, Nintendo should do something about the controller.  This is very good news, indeed!

Nintendo Game Cube thoughts and impressions

When I was visiting the IGN boards the other day, one person remarked that the Game Cube looked like a lunch box!  I'd say a 300 dollar lunch box!  Another remark was that it is a portable toilet.  I was shocked and stunned when I first saw the first pics of the Game Cube.  The guy was right, to me, the Nintendo Game Cube's design was controversial and looked pretty unappealing in my opinion.  Either way, some people at Space World say early demos of the system looked pretty cool and the controller was ok.  So the unveiling of the Game Cube was not all bad and there were some impressive demos of games at Space World.

The Nintendo Game Cube had some impressive specs and it looks like the Game Cube will have some great games on the system.  Early demos of Mario 128, Zelda Game Cube, Metroid and so on looked really well done and impressed everyone that was present at Space World.

The mini-DVD format in which the Game Cube uses is really innovative and enables games to have lesser load time than on the PS2, due to a special format released by Matsushita.  Also, although the design looks extremely unappealing (to my opinion), the hardware specs are good and the Game Cube has the highest processor power to date on any console (besides the X-Box because it's coming later than the N-Cube).

Other    than the fact that the system and controller designs are a bit controversial, the Nintendo Game Cube looks extremely impressive and its early demos look awesome.  So far, expect to see some of your favourite franchises on the Game Cube and the games are sure to please any gamer out there.  We'll wait and see in Fall 2001 if the Game Cube is really what early demos turn out to be.

MSN mix-up sorted!

In a recent news story on the MSN Computing Central section, they referred the X-Box as the Raven in their recent article which caused a huge mix-up in the gaming world.  Microsoft stated that the X-Box name is here to stay and the Raven is NOT the name of the X-Box console.  The X-Box name is definitely here to stay.

X-Box controller details revealed

New details have surfaced about what the X-Box controller will contain.  It is highly speculated that the X-Box controller will have slots for the memory card and will be similar to the Dreamcast controller slots.

Also, the controller will contain two analog sticks, two trigger buttons, six action buttons and a start/back button as well.  The development kits shown so far are currently using the Interact Hammerhead controller design as a primary controller interface and looks similar to the Playstation controller in terms of the amount of buttons involved.  More information on the X-Box controller will be coming our way when available.
