Power Switches are located inside the upper kitchen cupboards (main power/ water heater and power switch to enable use of electric heater situated under dining room window) if required.

Do not cut directly on kitchen counter.  Please use cutting board located on counter top

Do not put cooking grease down kitchen sink. Place in tin can and deposit in garbage

Microwave oven - Do not use dishes in microwave oven that are trimmed in gold or silver or metal utensils.

Microwave dishes are located on shelf below microwave

A VCR is located in the cottage for your enjoyment.  Movies can be rented in town. Please use the tape rewinder to rewind tapes

Do not spray insect sprays on main floor ceiling as this will mark the ceiling.

Blankets are located in bedrooms inside green garbage bags. Pillows are on all beds.  You are required to supply your own linens (e.g. sheets/ towels/ etc.) Two single, two double and one queen bed

Refrigerator - Set at #3 for best cooling of fridge and freezer.

Water Cooler We have a water cooler in the house for drinking water. Renters are responsible for their own water. Refills are available in town for reasonable cost.

Do not adjust damper in fireplace.  It is to remain open.

Do not use harsh cleansers such as bleach in toilet as they are harmful to the septic system. 

Please put one measure of Septo powder (located under bathroom sink) in toilet once a week or upon arrival

Place wooden boards in upstairs front bedroom window during driving rain storms and upon vacating cottage.

We are losing our beautiful white birch trees.  Do not peel birch bark from trees as this will cause irreparable damage.

The key to the shed is located on key rack beside refrigerator (eye glass key chain). 

The gas barbecue is located inside the metal shed.

Garbage pickup and recycling schedule is hanging on wall in the kitchen.  Do not leave garbage outside cottage at night in garbage bags.  Place garbage for pick-up in grey bin located at the roadside.

We recycle bottles/ cans, newspapers/ etc.  A blue box is located  outside the back door.

We compost as well; the composter is located outside the back door of the cottage.

There is a telephone in the cottage for local calls.  If you make long distance calls, please use a calling card or reverse the charges.  The phone number at the cottage is (519) 832-9087,

"911" is now available for Emergency Calls to Fire, Police and Ambulance only. If you require Police/ Fire or Ambulance Services in a non-emergency situation, please look in the phone book for the seven-digit numbers.

UPON VACATING

Remove blankets from beds and store in plastic bags.

Put boards in upstairs from bedroom window

Return gas barbecue to metal shed and lock it.

To prevent mildew, leave refrigerator and freezer doors open

Store white patio chairs inside cottage

Close all curtains

Lock front screen door and inside door

Turn off all three power switches

Lock both front and back doors when vacating and return the key to me.
