AboutDawn’s writing was first published back in grade three when a poem she wrote for Remembrance Day appeared in the Lumby Logger. Throughout her years in elementary school she collaborated with friends to write and produce plays, browbeating her peers to participate. Staff egged her on, allowing her to present these productions to the entire student body in the gym; in those days, it was blessed with an actual stage complete with curtains and satisfyingly colourful floodlights.
More recently, Dawn's words have appeared in Okanagan Life, Progress, Thompson Life, and North of 50. She has written newsletters, media releases, business proposals, standard operating procedures, and web copy for businesses, and she helps new authors hone their own skills through individual coaching sessions and Okanagan College's continuing education classes.
Some day, Dawn hopes to return to her original passion—live theatre. In the meantime, she amuses herself playing with words.
