Wildforest Phoenix El Toro is a lovable little boy that we adopted in March 2009 from Wildforest Bengals. We are so pleased with him and send a special thanks to Gloria and Keith for letting him be part of our family. Phoenix has two-tones rosettes that contrast perfectly with his glittery dark coat. His beautiful markings really stand out. He made us proud at two shows winning a total of 4 finals and a Championship with TICA and 3rd place in the ICAT Agility Competition in September; along with 3 finals and a Premier with the CCA in October! He also knows how good he looks as he loves to parade for himself in the mirror! Phoenix is the type of cat that everyone would love, unlike a traditional cat, he follows us everywhere. His favorite things are to play fetch (no matter what time it is), try to catch the fish through the glass of the fish tank, shake his paw to get TLC or a treat... and he loves to empty the Tupperware cupboard! He is such an affectionate boy and we cherish him dearly. What a great addition to our family!

"Alfie"(Gorgeous Pet)

Hello Gloria and Keith

I thought I would just give you an update on how "Alfie" is doing.
First of all I would like to say that he is one wonderful cat. Elaine
and myself absolutely adore him. I would like to thank both of you on
breeding/raising such a beautiful cat. Of course one lives with one's
cat and Alfred has a most varied and interesting personality. As far
as the regular day to day living arrangements he is most often
extraordinarily well behaved, very easy to train and friendly and
always deeply interested in what his humans are doing. He is a
precocious character and adapts to new situations with remarkable ease.

Aside from running vehicles (which he is, thankfully, very leery of)
he often strikes one as 'fearless'. He took to the lease quite
naturally and loves to go for short walk and explore. I walk him down
and up the block to my friends garden shop, or for that matter any new
place we take him, he walks in like he owns the place and proceeds to
'case the place'. The only problems is that sometimes he refuses to
return home when I wish to. So I have to pick him up and he certainly
has a temper, hiss and snarl! Definitely not a cat for just anyone.
And let me tell you he has very sharp claws. He certainly has an
aggressive streak, which comes out if he is picked up or held when he
is 'busy'. This is not a complaint, this is just his temperament which
we have no problem accepting.

On the other hand, he can be an absolute schmoos ball and love-ee
kitten at bedtime and early in the morning. He is an actor and knows
that when he does something funny or interesting he will play it up.
He is very respectful of things around him and is easily taught what
is a toy and what is not. Interestingly like a lot of cats he like
cardboard boxes, but with a twist, he will bite and rip holes in the
bottom corners with which he then makes a game out of - I have seen
him do this a number of times and it is very deliberate and clever and
he seems to revel in wild games where a cardboard box and bags and
everything goes flying all a once. He is one tough little cat, plays
in the snow, gets wet in the rain, and is a most excellent tree
climber — as Bengals are known to do. He's a trooper!

Alfie and Elaine have a game that they play all around of hunt and be
hunted, and he will leap out at you in a mock pounce high in the air
with his forepaws splayed out. Of course we pretend to be afraid of
him and the role is reversed. He is so funny.

You know I could go on and on. We really enjoy him. Interestingly
enough I have found that using a very gentle tone of voice and
explaining things to him works better than any of the 'text book' ways
of training a cat. People might think this is crazy - but it works,
maybe not the first time, or the second time, but as I explained to my
brother it's better to reason with the cat than prod or punish. One
slowly builds up layers of trust. (Feeding him nice fresh raw meat by
hand on my lap also works wonders.)

That's all for now

Dear Keith and Gloria,
Thank you so much for matching us with Ferno.  You couldn't have matched us with a better cat for our son.  They are the best of friends, as you can see from the pictures we've sent.  And what a beauty...everyone that sees him is in complete awe of him.  He looks just like a little leopard with his beautifully contrasted rosettes and glitter.  He is so friendly and smart, too.  He plays fetch on a regular basis.  It has been such a pleasure getting to know you.  You really care about your pets and the breed, and were so helpful.  Thanks again and we'll keep in touch!
