Vancouver is a vibrant, multicultural city. As Host City to the 2010 Winter Olympics, Vancouver, Whistler and all its surrounding municipalities are under constant change, from transportation to public safety to the environment and our public image to the world. In this historic time for Vancouver and Canada, as old prolems are dealt with, new problems arise.
Too often, young inspiring students are told they cannot make a difference in this world until they are adults. They're too young, they need to focus on their studies. They don't understand the issues yet. They don't have the solutions.
This is where the Crossroads Conference comes in.
On February 28, 2009, over 400 students from across Metro Vancouver will come together, at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre of the University of British Columbia, to discuss and address the issues facing Vancouver and the solutions for them. Their opinions and solutions will be heard by the media, the public, and the prominent figures in government, corporations and organizations across Vancouver.
About The Team
The Crossroads Conference is run by an Executive Team, mentored by an Advisory Board and endorsed by an Honourary Board of Trustees. The members of the Advisory Board are listed here, and the Honourary Board of Trustees can be found here.
