Southern Zone News

On Saturday 15 March 2008, the Southern Zone held its annual Drill Competition at Mewata Armouries in downtown Calgary. There were four drill teams that participated in this event; 3125 RCACC Chestermere, 2313 RCACC Medicine Hat, 2137 RCACC Calgary, and 1955 RCACC Calgary.

It was certainly a tight competition and the judges sure had their work cut out for them! After the results were tallied we had a winner, 3125 RCACC Chestermere. Congratulations! In second place came 2313 RCACC Medicine Hat followed by 2137 RCACC Calgary in third place. Last but certainly not least came 1955 RCACC Calgary with a superb effort.

It was great to see all teams “strut their stuff” on parade and the event was well attended by spectators. The first and second place winners will go on to participate in the provincial drill competition being held in Edmonton on 03 May 2008.

The Drill Commander’s award was presented to C/WO Churchill of 2137 Calgary Highlanders RCACC. Again congrats to all!
