A nasty cat that killed a really nice young redbone of mine.  Bone was just a year and a half old and was going to be an exceptional dog but she was just too fast and caught up to this guy alone in some tough country.  The cat bit her skull and dragged her into a cave but Turok who was a little behind ran him off and treed him.   I got her to the vet but she could not be saved.

Timber & Turok.  Unfortunately both of these dogs are now gone.  Turok was shot while on a bear chase and Timber had to be put down due to poor health.  Timber was twelve years old and Turok was her son out of her first litter.  They can be seen on the back of Bryan Cummin's excellent book "THE WORKING AIREDALE"

Timber, Turok and Jujube talking to a lion. Jujube is hogging the limelight and is wearing leggings in this picture because she used to get cut up pretty good in crusty snow.  The lion is only about 8 feet from the dogs face.
