Isabelle Peak is accessed by a good hiking trail, but is infrequently ascended. Nonetheless, it is a fine scramble with rewarding views. The ascent fits nicely into a summer day and gets you away from the crowds.

Traversing a snowy ridge on ascent. It is common to carry an ice axe on routes in the Canadian Rockies in case you encounter snow along ridges and on steeper slopes along the way. Snow patches often persist well into August on some routes.

An endless landscape of Rockies' peaks to the east with mighty Mount Assiniboine at upper left of photo.  Colorado may have higher peaks, for example, Long's Peak, but our Canadian Rockies  are more spectacular. Of course, I'm just a little biased...
