Anemone's Research Emporium

Research and information on autism, giftedness, and personality

plus some other fun stuff

Who am I?

photoI am gifted, female, and autistic. I have been on welfare as an adult for a long time, and the official reason is autism, but I suspect that being as gifted as I am and as female as I am is a bigger handicap than autism, as much as autism is a handicap for me.

As a result of the above, I have gotten rather irate at the lack of solid information out there, and started doing my own reading and thinking a while back. Much of what is on this website is a result of that. What I'm finding is that even when there is good information on what's what, it often doesn't make it into popular culture. And what is in popular culture is often wrong. The area I was most fascinated by as a child was mythology, and so one of my goals is to figure out how to update the modern mythos so that it is more accurate and inclusive for freaks like me. So people like me don't have to go through what I've gone through any more.
