Some autism linksThis forum can be a zoo, and I found it overwhelming when I first went there. So I went and spent a few months on a much smaller forum (ASD Gestalt), then, when I started climbing the walls there, I went back to Wrong Planet. Wrong Planet is a central place to hang out and compare notes for autistic adults, so it's worth checking out, even if it's too busy to spend much time at. Or, alternately, you can spend all day there if that's your thing. An index of autism blogs, sorted by whether they're by autistic people, family members, or others. A good place to start reading up on autism, with blogs ranging from the personal to comments on scientific publications. The only autism society that I know of that includes significant numbers of autistic people in the decision making progress. They have some good information and documents on their website. Warning: only the first page works in Safari, but the whole site works in Firefox. Some kind soul has put both html and pdf copies of classic autism research papers on the internet, to save us souls from having to make the trek to the library and photocopier. Thank you, whoever you are! |
