Seminar Cost: $295.00 ($75.00 non-refundable deposit payable at time of registration and balance by April 1, 2012.
 

Surface Cost: $30.00 (9x12 Masonite pre-prepped panel with a solid Oak frame.)
 

Seminar/Surface Fees include:

• Oil paint, Griffin Alkyds and mediums for class room use

• Pattern packet and class room step-by-step instruction from world-class instructor/designer

• Pre-prepped Masonite panel and solid oak wooden frame that the panel can slide into (interchangeable with other panels… Great for future work you do also.)

• Coffee and tea throughout the day, hot soup and bun lunch (students can opt to bring along a sandwich if they wish… if you have food allergies, I recommend you supply your own lunch.)

• Lots of great learning from a world-class instructor and lots of fun.

 

This seminar is geared towards all painters – even if you have minimal painting
experience with oils, this is a great opportunity for you to experience oil painting
with one of the best! Join us for two and a half fun packed days and learn from
Cheri how to create this stunning and realistic still life!

You many remember me discussing in class with some of you my amazing experience last May when I attended a seminar with Cheri Rol in Leduc Alberta. Well I am pleased to announce that Cheri is coming to Calgary to teach a seminar. The class dates have been set for Friday April 27 to Sunday April 29, 2012.
 

Cheri is a member of the Society of Decorative Painters and earned her Certified Decorative Artist Degree in 1985, and then became one of 54 Master Decorative Artists with the Society of Decorative Painters in 1997. As a decorative artist and an oil painter, Cheri is well known for her still life studies, and her extensive pattern packet line of decorative art designs.

Cheri lives in the quiet country side of Southern Indiana and conducts workshops in the Historic Town of Corydon, Indiana. Her studio hosts decorative art seminars, color theory, and art instruction classes for decorative painters. Cheri travel teaches all across the United States and in Canada, Argentina and Japan.
 

During this 2 and ½ day seminar you will acquire a tremendous amount of knowledge about Cheri’s special techniques and styles. During her teaching she provides students with an abundance of information regarding composition, lighting, color mixing and color theory as well as a tremendous amount of hands-on time creating these stunning pieces of artwork.

We are still working out the details of which piece Cheri will teach but I have been assured it is likely to be a still life design incorporating a floral element and will be targeted to all levels of painters. Painters who have never tried oil painting will be able to complete the project with Cheri’s exceptional teach techniques.
