Members receive a regular newsletter (internet version requires PDF Reader). The society offers Japanese classes through the heritage and language school. Annual special events include the Christmas Concert for Children, Autumn Bazaar, the Bon Odori and the Keirokai or Seniors' Dinner to honour elders in the Japanese-Canadian Community. The Japanese hall acts as a meeting place for the Buddhist Church group/Buddhist Daruma School, Vernon Judo Club, Odori (Japanese dance), ikebana, eigakai movie club and Fujinkai (Japanese Women's Auxiliary).

As part of the Vernon Winter Carnival's 50th anniversary, we started 2010 with So You Think You Can Taiko at the Performing Arts Centre. See ticketseller.ca for details. Other 2010 events included the Autumn Bazaar and Strawberry tea and the 2010 Haru Matsuri.

Our special event for 2009 was a Japanese Film Fest presented by Japan Foundation.

Our special event for 2008 was the 20th Anniversary of Redress celebration held in Kamloops.

Special events for 2007 included a Japanese Film Fest Japanese Film Fest presented by the Consulate General of Japan and the Japan Foundation and a Taste of Japan Pre-Film Party.
