This was going to be a followup to the Angel episode "Birthday". Mostly I wanted to write a scene where she explained to the Fang Gang just what she had gone through, why she agreed to be demonized, etc. - none of which we actually got to see on the screen (which was a big disappointment to me). In hindsight I also think this marked the episode where Cordelia's personality began to change, and not for the better! I liked the old Cordy! Ah well...
"Uh...Cordelia..."
"What?"
She glanced down. And that was when she noticed it. She was floating. Levitating. Four frickin' feet off the frickin' floor.
"Oh. My. God."
At that precise moment, as if by noticing what was happening, gravity had decided to notice her in return, Cordelia Chase crashed to the ground.
Hard.
She landed awkwardly, having no time to prepare herself for the impact. Pain shot through her right foot as she crumpled then lay stunned for a moment on the floor, gasping for air.
"And how unfair is this?" she thought bitterly, staring up at the ceiling. "My very first pain-free vision ever and I end up on the floor. Again. Life sucks."
