I mentioned the 'masculine Mayla' picture to my mother, and she did remember saying what she said, after a lot of prompting - after all, it was years ago!

This is Flair's family, his father, his mother, and his younger brother. Oh, right, Flair is the Prince of the Country of the Moon, which is called, in my primitive first attempt at language, the Lunesa (lune as in moon, and sa=kingdom). I tried to draw him, but he turned out so badly in my first attempts that I gave up. I drew a couple of pictures before even these ones, and they have small heads, square jaws, and worse hair even than Flar, his father, has in the picture above. Flair is the romantic interest for Zela. Hopefully his part is greater than that! (Yes. Yes, it is)

So, Flar is the stiff looking, dark haired one. Striasta was the queen's original name, and I think she must be wearing a veil of some sort because her blonde hair looks more like a headdress than anything else. Firefly, the golden haired prince, turned out much, much better. He's the only reason that I keep this picture. Can you detect short-leg syndrome in this picture? I think I also forgot some of the ears.

Who here loves Czech choir boys? (waves hand frantically) Who here loves choir boys in general? (waves hand; I think I am influenced by Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising series) Trained choir boys make such a lovely sound, and the Czech part comes from a Christmas tape we have. They don't sing particularly familiar carols, but they're decidedly gorgeous. I wish we had a CD player upstairs, and then I could listen to them at high volume. Yes, I don't listen to rock at high volume, I listen to orchestras and choir boys etc. And one Enya song. Longships. But that's not Christmas, and the Christmas EP that Enya put out had one Silent Night, three pieces (March of the Celts, Book of Days, and another...) that we already had, and one piece that we didn't have but wasn't particularly interesting. She does that sometimes. River is just about the most dull piece she's ever done. I like most of her others, though, but not at high volume like Longships.

Why am I talking about Enya? I should be talking about Christmas music! While I think it's early to be doing some Christmas things like cookies and movies, and lights and certainly trees, it's never too early to start in on the music. I'm practicing tunes from A Charlie Brown Christmas, which is available as a music book! They're easier than last year, too. My brother sight-read Christmastime is Here, which is pretty good!

Before I close, here are a couple of funny Fire Emblem videos I found on YouTube:
Critical hits, and chipmunk monsters! (this one was taken off for some reason, but it had all the critical hit animations for all the characters in the Gameboy Advance Fire Emblem games, including the monsters of FE8, the footage of which glitched and played double speed. Hilarious!)
Daisy and her sleep sword.
Why won't Valter die!?!? Parts 1 and 2
I liked also someone's "arena bashing" videos, where certain characters got extremely lucky. Judging by the above, though, I think that it's the "super-fast" videos that crack me up. Wait, I already knew that!
