Confrontation drawn Feb 14, '04 posted for Jan 24, 2007 (55) This picture is of Link and Ganondorf facing off for Zelda, who's cheering for Link, of course. As you can see, I'm now terrific at drawing heroes and developing in drawing heroines. My ability to draw bad guys, though, is really low. I don't like them. They're usually not bishounen, or even handsome, and so I just draw a sinister blob and say: "There. Nemesis. Go kill it." Also I didn't have a reference picture for Ganny. Sweet Master Sword, though! And shaded! I seem to recall this picture as being drawn a lot later... the art style seems to support that hypothesis... but the date belies my expectations... I was going to rant about stress here, but I'll pare it down to two items: I want food. (Peanuts paraphrase: Sally) "I live in mortal dread of getting up on stage and forgetting what I am to play." Anyway, enough whining, already! Time to tell you about the amazing new thing that's happening. My brother is developing his homemade Dungeons and Dragons v. 3.0, and it involves drawing large level maps on paper left over from packing up the house to move it last August. This got me interested more than all the recitations of new species, classes, abilities, skillz, and mechanisms, so I started wondering who would go on this new thing. Flairé: I've already played a whole game of D&D v. 1.0, and a level of 1.5... So I needed someone new. And, I decided, what better way than to let my people decide for themselves? So, I started drawing "Questing for Cuteness", a chibified tale of who goes where. So far, the leading contenders are Esgalwen, Ceniro, and Rana. My brother is leaning towards Ceniro... he already designed a special 'tactician' class for him. Esgalwen is probably his last choice because she's the happy type elf and not really a combatant. Rana is thinking of being a "ninja" class, to spice things up, but Esgalwen wants to go on an adventure! Ceniro's the cutest chibi on the cover, so he'll probably go. This is getting off to a better start than "The Chibi Adventures of Star Wars", at least... |
