I like this picture. It's of a hawk laguz named Anne. I made her up because I like hawks, and I like pretending I am one - when no one's around. This is opposed to my usual fashion of creating characters: a) so-and-so is handsome, so they obviously need someone to share their life with, and b) this NPC needs a name and background because he/she looks so darn cool.

Anyhow, Anne is a perky young hawk - not over 50 - who cleans the king's chambers, hence the mop and bucket. She is perhaps the only one of my characters to have a bare midriff. Hey, she's a hawk, which means athletic, and they live in a fairly southerly climate, where it's rather warm. And short hair is something new, too. Her most memorable feature is the fact that her right wing is deformed, from birth.

I even wrote a short fanfic about her: Flightless Hawk. Unlike a good deal of my other stories, this one has NO romance. If you think you see any, good for you, but it's not there: Anne is not attracted to anyone; no one is attracted to Anne. Besides, I support Janaff/Lucia anyway. The ages are all in beorc (human) appearances; e.g. Janaff looks 14 at the beginning even though he's really about 80 or so. And it doesn't have much of a plot, but I think it's rather sweet. Enjoy!

Aug 11 '08 Now in colour here!

I've been playing Kevin's game Freelancer. So far I've not gotten out of the 'American' systems, but it's a bit fun to explore them - except for the Texas system, which is full of annoyingly strong pirates. It's nice to find random sweet deals - blowing up a pirate and finding a cargo lot of silver and selling it for 500 credits, or getting two cargo lots of super-alloy and selling them for 1,200 credits - nice. And I am getting a bit better at shooting stuff with the mouse.

Time to work on the Lego movie.
