A fantasy webcomic, that is, a story about elves, dragons... and Pixies! Beware the Pixies! A touching, heart-felt story. Under the chocolate cake. Favourite character? Probably Myhrad, maybe Leaf. Not sure. Favourite quotes: "Oooh, shiny!" "How to get a dragon across a stream in seven easy steps. ... ... Step 6: Panic." Ayne: "That's it! I've had it! Do you have any weapons?" Weapons shopkeeper: "Uhhh... is that a rhetorical question?" "The gates are closed." "Um... are you sure?" "Despite all evidence to the contrary, yes." "And in the evenings I'll run the Smart Trolls Upset Prejudices In Dispair group." "Rock? I'm no rock! I'm a lion! ROAR!" "I'm sure they're [passport papers] quite impressive, but I can't read. So unless you want me to look at them suspiciously and say 'hmm', there's really little point." Comic #346 - Reader fill-in-the-blank: "And the fish was big like that!" "Too bad your line broke." |
LinT: "A hebetudinous tale of epic proportions" I'll let you look up hebetudinous on your own... LinT is hilariously funny, and the art is great! The webcomic story continues as our heroes Sangwine, Bactine, Xilic, Stump, and Derf try to find some sort of plot to follow. Hope has just joined up, too. Favourite character: Sangwine Favourite quotes: "Yes, we all know you're a good thief. Now give me back my socks." "ADMIRATIVE isn't even a WORD!" "It is TOO a word! ... It's a word in ELVISH!" "And so, Sangwine wound his merry yet determined way... etc." "Just wait until you see the new longbow I got today, Bactine... It's bendy, and it's got a string-" "I've been stolen! Stolen! Nefariously!" "You will gain nothing in return! Nothing but death!" "Well, that sucks..." "Ay carumba! Er, I mean, garggh!!" "So I suggest for your own safety, Al'bert du Fromage, that you desist this vapid underestimation forthwith!" "Oh, Al'fred-" "Al'bert." "Al'bert... yes! But first, I really want to... to... POKE YOU IN THE EYE!" "I'll cut it, I SWEAR!" And I love all the titles on the archives page. IT'S SO QUOTABLE! WHEE! |
The Prime of Ambition Another web comic, with beautiful graphics, as you can see from the banner. A journey, with character development! The authors are experiencing some real life difficulties at present, so it doesn't update as regularly, but the story so far is an excellent read. Favourite Character: Audriel Favourite Quotes: "If you're going to do research, you really should do all of it." "Needless to say, I do not believe I overreacted." "Are you some sort of mage?" "Only if you stretch your definition of one very broadly." "I wander from place to place and help people. My faithful companions are under the misconception that money can be made this way." "You're on your own, here, elfie." Joke comic for the 4th of July: "And free beer! Tell 'im we want free beer!" "I don't think you have any idea as to what is going on." |
Darken A webcomic about less-than-shining... er... people. Yeah, people. They're all very strange. Favourite Character: Um... I think Komiyan. He's the least weird. Favourite Quotes: "My name is Gort. Who do I kill?" Typical. "She is my oldest friend. Well, oldest friend I haven't killed." "Quite the honour! ^_^" "Ah, another easily avoidable encounter. How I've missed these..." "I heard the Duke of Avron died a few months ago..." "Mm, ate something that didn't agree with him. Poor dear. How fortuitous he had left everything to me in his will before he died." "Sideways floors will not stop the Lord of Hellfire!" |
A ridiculous fantasy comic. So funny. So gorgeous. Read now! Go! Click! Shoo! Great extras, too. And I'm on the forum. What, you're still here? Favourite Character: Gauthicus B. Schönen Favourite Quotes: And lo, the darkness was truly great and terrible, because nobody could see a darned thing. "Ho, peasant! Why do you carry a dagger?" "Sir, this is but a humble potato peeler." "Only aristocrats could have fashion sense that wierd." "Too tired to... think... in complete... sentances..." "We're all gonna die!" "Not to interrupt, but how are you... doing that?" "Eh? Doing what?" "Ye gods! What could he be casting?" "There seems to be more swearing than casting, actually." |
Feudal Japanese people running around making wisecracks and fighting samurai/ninja in a cool/excessively flashy/or completely incompetent manner. Glee! PG13 for language, blood, and revealing attire. Favourite Character: Cho Teko (with Yori in close second! and Ina, Ken, and Murasaki in third!) Favourite Quotes: “I’m an intelligent, self-motivated, drop-dead gorgeous sixteen year old woman... and entirely capable of deciding her own fate.” “HOLY FLIPPING SHNIKIES OF DEATH!” “The code of Bushido, the way of the warrior, would never allow me to just run away!” “Look, samurai boy, I have no need for Bushido! Now put me down, go back there, and die with honour!” “Sorry, too busy rescuing you.” “Call me Yorikiro, master of the martial arts and wielder of a secret knowledge of fighting style so mystical and great it has no name for all who witness it perish before they can grasp the immense power before them!!!!” “What are we screaming about?” “It has been prophesized that a Taoist, Hindu, and Christian priest will walk into a bar and end the world...” “Who are you?” “Yer bad hair day’s worst nightmare... ever.” “Oh, a random sound! I should investigate it!” “Besides, I need something resembling sanity after talking to pointy-hat about the flight patterns of penguins.” “A loaf that twists fate is not a loaf at all, but is, in fact, a pretzel.” “I hate my afterlife.” “And don’t do the wavy hand thing. I hate the wavy hand thing.” “BACK ME UP BETTER!” “The Tao supports you 100 percent.” “...But you’ve seriously pushed the extent of my cheese doodle naturally when I think I’m forgiven, and then you’ll see it this time!” Pointy Hats 10% off!! “Wait... did I just suggest my own ransom?” “Just as the snake, stripped of its slippers, is helpless to defend itself from the ever growing Viking threat.” “Don’t die, Yori.” “Ok.” “It looks like the storm is clearing.” “Um, ok?” “Huh, looks like you made it onto page 10, right under ‘Ninja Lifts Mt. Fuji’.” “Did you see that? I just punched out THE Ennosuke Nakamura.” |
| Awkward Zombie Hail-NekoYasha(DeviantArt) Artist of all things dumb and Nintendo-related! Hail! ^_^7 Her own website is her main update outlet now, although it doesn't have all the comics that are on her DevArt site. Favourite character: Marth! Although he's grumpy. Aww. Favourite quotes: ...Look, why don't you just go read them all already? |
Ahem. Yes, the banner says it all. The artists working on this include the artists of LinT, True Magic, Darken, and No Rest for the Wicked. A ridiculous twist on a conventional fairytale. Favorite Character: Prince #3. The fox is pretty handsome after page 29, too. Favourite Quotes: "I should think I'd be in considerable pain, were I eating solid gold fruit. This is an apple." "I can grasp abstract concepts such as time and gravity! I can-" POW "Kitties..." "Keep your forked tongue behind your teeth!" "Many apologies, your worship." "Well, you should apologize. It's disgusting." "Good lord! It's so... 80's!" "I'm not taking fashion advice from a guy with a 90's boy band cut." "... I mean, fie, a talking fox!" "The other saddle talked!!" "HIT IT!" Fairy tales! Real ones, only different. Favourite Character: Not sure... November Favourite Quotes: "Mysterious old beggar women need to be handled very, very carefully." "You will be able to sleep... once the moon has risen from the dead." "That's a mouse, or I'm a tiger." "He lacks the wit and good sense God bestowed upon the common pudding." "Pierre, my boy, fish were made for swimming, birds were made for flying... and these boots were made for walking." "I... HATE... clever beasts." "Eaten by a wolf. I see, I see. ... ... ...That doesn't explain anything." "I ONLY PROPOSED... .... ...TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY-THREE TIMES." "She's a youngest, if y'get my meaning." "Do I ever!" |
A great, sci-fi/fantasy fairytale comic. I'm actually not sure what genre it is, so ignore what I just said, but the art is really pretty, and the characters well drawn. I did like the old emo Tristram better than the new scary one, and Willow's got some awfully strong grimaces lately! but still very pretty! Favourite Character: Wavering between Tengu, Nanashi, and Willow... And the final winner is... Tengu! Just to be wierd. Except Nanashi reminds me of Zela. And Willow is so sweet. Favourite Quotes: "I frickin' GLOW! How could you not see me!?" |
An incredible story, with incredible art. The banner above is not the same style the comic is drawn in, but rest assured it's also great. The story is deep and convoluted, and the end is nigh! Seriously! Shiara looks a little like Rana at the beginning. Favourite Character: Varden? Favourite Quotes: "So I might be a little messed up. Please give me a chance." By the same author, The Phoenix Requiem has equally gorgeous art and an interesting plot. Slightly creepy. Favourite character? Jonas. Favourite quote so far? "You... barmy... git..." Ah, that says 'barmy', in case it's too small for you. |
