LOCAL NEWS  

hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.   may 2010 bring lots of opportunities and success stories for our roster!

 I am away the first week of february so i will begin our roster updates immediately after that.    everyone will receive emails with our current talent information sheet, updated information on the agency, status on your availability for Vancouver auditions and each file will be checked for the need of updates.  

There are many new faces on our standby list that would like full representation so please make sure your photo still represents your current look and resume and online sites are up to date.  we will be removing any that are not from the website and the roster as we go through the files.   please do not wait until we contact you about your file if you know you need to update. 

the agency information update will cover the changes that will happen next month.

  • ongoing auditions are being held by producer Beverley dondale for  "Hostage diner", a non union feature to be filmed in Victoria. congratulations to Geoffrey conder, Michelle lieffertz, jonathan ellis, jenny matechuk, allen agopsowicz, david kmiecik, rob jennings, stephanie watkins, thaddeus monckton and trevor lerner who have roles so far!

  • Congratulations to rahmat azizi, tonya albers and thaddeus monckton who worked with howard harding for a vsa video.

 

Online Sites:  

  • When emailing with talent questions or actors updates on holidays, resumes, etc., always use  coultishtalent@telus.net     if you send to the old bcoultish address we will not get your email.

  • Check in on our website twice a month.  Most of our roster has made sure their photo is current on the website.  Thank you for doing so!  We will be evaluating photos at the end of each month and those that are outdated or not professional looking will be removed and those actors will also be let go from the agency.  This will keep our roster current and also give those wishing to be with the agency an opportunity to join our talent family.  Updated photos will be launched at the middle and end of each month.  So please look at your photo...is it your current look or age?   Children and Teens photos should be updated every year.  Adults can usually use the same photo for a few years as long as their hair style and also for men facial hair does not change. 

  • "Actors Access"  - We are using this site constantly now and EVERYONE needs TO BE ON IT.  keep your online file up to date.   There is no cost to you.    www.actorsaccess.com

  • "Casting Workbook" - If you have registered with this site, you are responsible for keeping this site current.  If your account becomes "Inactive" due to overdue fees, it will be removed.  

  • Just checking out the "Casting Workbook"?   If you would like to be on the Casting Workbook but do not wish to travel off Island for auditions then let us know.  You can still register and pay to be on the Casting Workbook and we will put you in a separate list that only is submitted for Island auditions.   Many auditions for films, etc. to be shot in Victoria are also setup from this site so it is a good idea to be on it.  You can find a link to their site under "Links for Actors" on the Home page.  You register and pay directly to them.

Office Files:  Overly outdated files are removed every six months to make room for new talent.  Don't lose your space because of procrastination!  You can email information anytime to  coultishtalent@telus.net

  • A completed and signed talent questionnaire & agreement with all your current stats. 

  • Please make sure your picture and resume are current.  This is especially important now that we have the photos on our website for clients to see.  Not doing will result in your name being dropped from the roster.  The agency requires an 8x10 black and white or colour professional photo for the talent book and 6 copies of it for your file.

  • Resume includes any other languages you speak fluently and other passports you have.  (British, American, EEC).  Besides your experiences, keep your training, interests & skills updated too!

  • If your updated resume is a Microsoft Word document or Adobe PDF file you can email it to us as an attachment.  Otherwise you can paste it to the body of the email and we will cut and paste on to our letterhead.      

  • Let us know of any changes in your home address, phone numbers and email address. 

  • New UBCP or other union member?  Don't forget to give us your union numbers.   Remember after doing an union speaking role, you must apply for membership within 6 weeks or you will lose your credit.
