Highway 10 Preloading Project involves settling in of foundation for the widening of Highway 10 from 152nd Street to Highway 15 (176th Street).
 

Start of preloading project at 158 Street.

 

 
Highway 10 continues east, with the preloading done on the north or left side of the highway.

Nickomekl River and Bridge.

The bridge will be widened out to accomodate 4 lanes.

 

Southern Railway crossing. The railway was previously B.C. Hydro Railway and prior to that, B.C. Electric Railway. The line carries regional freight from New Westminster to Chilliwack. It had up to the late 1950's had a passenger service called the Interurban which ran from Vancouver to Chilliwack.

168th Street.

This intersection will be expanded to accomodate 4 lanes of traffic.
The preload now also occupies the south or right side of the highway.

Equipment continues the spreading of finishing sand and gravel for acceptance of pavement.

 

Foundation yet to be spread out and ready for asphalt.
 

The sign ahead instructs trucks to use Highway 99 to access the ferries and Roberts Bank as there were continued complaints about truck traffic through Ladner.

Trucks will travel north to northwest and then turn south to meet Highway 10 in Ladner before continuing south towards the ferry.
